Nuts About Granola was started by a mother daughter team, Gayle & Sarah, who shared a passion for cooking.  They wanted to develop a snack that had a nutritional value to it and would help them refuel during athletic events.  That's how it all began but it's so much more exciting then that.

Q: How long have you been in business?

A: The formal business is three years old.  I have had a life long love affair with paper crafts.  That love steadily grew into a skill as a classroom teacher, where I made exemplary learning aids and displays.

Q: Tell us a little about the products that you sell.

A:  A Penny for Your Thoughts provides high quality greeting cards for all occasions.  We also sell coordinated gift sets that usually include a gift bag or box, card and tag.

Q: What is your best selling item?

A: Greeting cards and gift sets for specific holidays like Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

Q:  Do you have a wholesale division?

A:  Our executive mailing service that series as our wholesale division.  Local businesses provide us pertinent information about their clientele and we send greetings for their specific special occasions.

Q:  What do you want others to know about your company.

A: Our cards are a full size 8.5x5.5 inches compared to the typical "A2" which is 5x4 inches.  We only use the highest quality materials so that our items can be incorporated into scrapbooks or memory boxes.  All materials are made in a smoke and pet free studio.  Shipping is included in the cost of items.

Q:  How did you decide on the name for your business?

A: A Penny for Your Thoughts is the combination of my nickname "Penny" and the time-honored phrase.

Q:  Where do you see your business going in 5 years?

A:  Our goal is to expand our placement into local shoppes as well as expanding our online presence.  We are currently in conversation with local organizations regarding a partnership in order to provide employment for individuals with limited work experience.

Inside of the cellophane bag that the cards come in was card confetti, tags and it was sealed with a sparkly red heart sticker. Just the right embellishment.

I especially liked the ribbon the card and stamp added just the right touch. It says "In Love With You yesterday, today, tomorrow, forever." The card itself is textured as it has raised hearts and a very pretty ribbon and it opens at an angle. Tragic Loss, please help

My heart is sad today as I have just found that my friend, Dana from Magick Moon Soapwurks, has lost her husband this past weekend.

He passed away on Saturday morning from an apparent heart attack. He was just 45 years old and leaves behind Dana, his wife, and his 2 sons, Aaron & Kaleb.

Dana has become a true friend over the past year that I have known her. She's been a constant contributor to the Out Of The Box Sampler, as many of you have sampled her wonderful soaps, I'm sure. I feel helpless in this situation and really wanted to be able to help her in some way, deal with this loss. What makes this situation even worse, is the fact that her husband, Lawrence, did not have life insurance. I know that my "Out Of The Box Sampler" family has come thru before when we had the raffle for Erika's Make A Wish. So I'm asking you again to lend a hand because I know you all have heart's of gold.

Primitive Baking, Inc.

Okay, prepare yourself for some mouth watering goodies you will just have to order! Primitive Baking, Inc.is our featured blog post this time. I knew they had scrumptious cookies because they sent them in for the Out Of The Box Sampler in February's boxes. They were beautifully decorated in a heart shape and were delicious. However when I went to visit the site further to do this post, I couldn't believe what I found. I had trouble deciding what pictures to use so your going to be treated to a ton of them because they all look incredible!

So here goes...

I'm a fanatic for cinnamon buns and these are the great gooey icing ones that just ooze goodness with every bite.
